{"id":1924,"date":"2020-02-19T13:05:52","date_gmt":"2020-02-19T13:05:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hecma.org\/?page_id=1924"},"modified":"2021-12-02T19:05:01","modified_gmt":"2021-12-02T19:05:01","slug":"cmf-faculty-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hecma.org\/cmf-faculty-information\/","title":{"rendered":"CMF Faculty Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><b>Case Management Foundations<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Faculty Application<\/span><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Higher Education Case Managers Association (HECMA) is seeking 1-2 innovative and dynamic senior case management professionals to join a cohort of faculty instructors for the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Case Management Foundations<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> institute. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Case Management Foundations<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 (\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foundations<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d) was developed by HECMA volunteers and leaders in 2019 as a training course for professionals working in non-clinical higher education case management roles. The course curriculum draws from a broad range of literature, scholarship, professional standards, and best practice recommendations in order to create a unified and comprehensive starting point for case managers in higher education. The course format is designed to be both lecture-based and also allow for dynamic conversation and participation by attendees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foundations<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> course description is as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Case Management Foundations provides an in-depth look at the core foundations and standards of case management in higher education. We will explore the historical evolution of our field; review core tenets, principles, and best practices of case management; and dialogue about current issues, trends, and challenges that we are managing in our roles. While the Foundations content is focused on the responsibilities typically associated with non-clinical case management roles, clinical case managers will likely find content that is useful to their roles as well. Attendees will be invited to listen to and engage with other case managers and leaders in our field, and build a solid foundation on which to support our students.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foundations <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is currently offered as a virtual workshop twice a year, or based on request and faculty availability. HECMA is also in conversation with the Faculty Chair about the possibility of a future honorarium for faculty, in addition to travel and lodging expenses that would already be covered by HECMA in the event of an in-person workshop offering. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HECMA seeks applications for this role from experienced higher education case management professionals who are interested in helping to train new professionals in the field and grow the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foundations<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> curriculum. Qualified applicants will have<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earned a master\u2019s degree in a related field (including, but not limited to, higher education, student affairs, social work, counseling, educational leadership)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Served in a full-time non-clinical case management role for at least three years (and currently be serving in such a role)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Been a dues-paying member of HECMA for at least two years at the professional member status<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presented about case management in a public forum, preferably at the national level<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrated interest in advancing case management through scholarship, research, or assessment<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrated an advanced knowledge of and professional commitment to advancing issues related to access, equity, diversity, and inclusion<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selected faculty will be invited to participate in virtual trainings and meetings. Individuals are expected to continue meeting the above criteria throughout their appointment as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foundations<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> faculty. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foundations<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> faculty are appointed for a service term of three years, with the opportunity to renew appointment upon review and invitation by the HECMA Leadership Team.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Application<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants should submit the following materials (<\/span><b>*as a single PDF file*<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) by email to Noah Henry-Darwish at <\/span><a href=\"mailto:nhd@stanford.edu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nhd@stanford.edu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by <\/span><b>December 14, 2021<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Statement of interest<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resume or CV <\/span>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please include presentations and\/or publications, and indicate when you were the coordinating or lead presenter\/author<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Optional<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Results from evaluations or assessments about the applicant\u2019s presentation or teaching (e.g., conference presentation feedback, teaching evaluation, etc).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Written response to the following questions (max 500 words each):<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>1. Although the <i>Foundations<\/i> course follows a mostly pre-set curriculum, faculty have some flexibility to personalize and add to the course content based on issues of particular interest or expertise. Please propose a module or concept that you would hope to address when presenting the <i>Foundations<\/i> course, why you feel this is an important topic to include, and what format you would use to teach a group of case managers about it.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">2. Please identify a publication or resource that was developed in the past 5 years that you believe is important for non-clinical case managers to know about.
